Default Re-Pin O2 Connector

One of my oxygen sensor connectors is cracked, and I want to replace it. I have another one, but I cannot figure out how to release the pins in the connector. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Trace, You just have to put a very thin wire or tool down in the hole to catch the prong. Then you just pull the wire out. I found that a torch cleaning set works really well.

Thanks. I used a sewing pin with the sharp end cut off on the rest of the harness, but I can't get these to release. I must be missing the tabs. Maybe I need a thin flat tool that covers more of the width of the release slot.

We use a safety pin. Push it in as far as you can . It will release the pin . Pull out the back of connector. bend the tab back and you can reuse the terminal. Steve

So I have now bought all of these tools, and none of them work on these connectors! I guess it's getting wrapped with electrical tape...

As mentioned the green one is the correct one. You just can't buy them and expect it to de=pin itself. Some effort required here...

The green tool is the one I tried the most. How far do you have to shove it in there? I think I already bent a coupe terminals up a bit by trying to force it. It goes in the slot above the pin, right?

Yes Push the tool into the slot above the pin. Push it in until u feel it kind of push all the way through. Safety pin is best.
Push the wire in as you push the tool into the terminal. Usually the Metripack 150 terminals come right out but sometimes it takes a few tries. If u need to order terminals they are male metripack 150 sealed 18 awg.

Thanks. I have a variety of safety pins, so I'll try some of them.

Where can I get the black terminal housing part? That's all I really need off of this pigtail, assuming I can de-pin the one on my car. I haven't tried that one yet.

I dont know where you could get the plastic part other than off of another harness. Junk yards are full of them if you have one near by. As for getting the terminals out, I just used a paper clip. Just stick it in the hole part under the part thats sticking up, wiggle ot a bit and pull from the back side. There is a small tang that needs to pe pressed in to release them. Then it needs to be pushed back into position before putting the terminals back in. These pics arent the best, but I think you can see the tang I'm taking about.

Thanks. This has been so frustrating. I re-pinned several other terminals with ease when I was doing the wiring. This one has been impossible so far.

As mentioned it's in the hole and on the same side as the metal protruding, you have to push it through and all the way, then just pull it out the back. When you re-install it, you have to push the metal tab back down into it's original position. Then put the connector back together.

Finally figured this out... Insert the green handle tool into the larger rectangular hole below the pin, and pry towards the pin (while pulling on the wire from the back side). It's not the tiny hole above the pin.
