Default ECU question

I have an ly6 which is a 58tooth reluctor. I have an ecu from a 2000 tahoe so to make that work I need a converter box. y question is If bought an ls3 ecu instead of the converter box will I be able to use a drive by cable throttle body with it? Or will I need a Drive by wire throttle body for it to work right? Has anybody come across this before?

All GEN IV ECMs require DBW, they do not have IAC drivers so cable is out of the question

You can either use the converter box, press on a 24x reluctor or use an aftermarket control system that supports 58x and DBC (Holley etc)

Yes. My issues are I have a 2014 58tooth motor, but a 700r4 trans that I want to use. So I thought I needed a cable throttle body for the kickdown cable. All ecus that run dbc are 24 tooth. Thats why I sourced the 2000 tahoe ecu. And figured I would run the converter box. Now I know somebody that said they ran the cable direct to the pedal with some bracket they made up, and they will let me copy it. So now Im thinking maybe I should try that and run a 58tooth ecu instead of the 24 tooth ecu. Itll cost me about the same to get the ecu and pedal as buying the converter box. But if for some reason the cable to the pedal doesnt work well I was wondering if I could then use a dbc with the 58 tooth ecu. But that wont work. Going stick would be great. Eliminate all the cable headaches but If I go stick I want a t56 and there a little out of my price range right now.

Lots of work to reuse a dinosaur of a trans. Easier to run an electronic trans and skip all that hassle

Agreed. A 4L60e has the same dimension as a 700r...

I agree. I was trying stay on a budget and use as much as I already have. If I buy a trans I really would like to go with a t56, problem is there a little out of my price range for now. So I was hoping to get it running with the 700r4 and then later down the road swap to the t56.
