Default S10 4WD LS oil pan woes

Discussing an LS swap into a friends 98 S10 blazer. It is currently 4wd, which I know poses a problem for LS oil pans. I was thinking of ditching the front diff and axles all together (he doesn't want the 4wd). Has anyone done this and used the LS truck pan? He's on a tight budget so we just want to get it in there with that pan to save some coin. Any input?

You'll have a lot of room to use the truck oil pan once the front diff is removed and be able to set engine and trans where you want with custom mounts... remove the cv shaft stub and also remove the cage and bearings and use the stub shaft to hold the front bearings and hub together

Not from personal experience, but measure, and see if lowering the diff. a bit will allow a truck pan to work. Seems like I saw that before, but hadn't done it.

Yep, that was the plan with the CV joints

Anyone know if the truck pan will fit with no problems once the front diff is discarded?

I saw that suggested when researching this, but the 4wd is not going to be hooked up, so removing it would be our best bet. Plenty more room that way. Besides, he wants to sell it to get a few bucks to sink into the conversion!

s10s are cheap...sell it and buy a 2wd or trade someone with a 2wd for his 4x4.

Will the $600 buck pan from Moroso part # 20143 work?
