It was the weirdest surface I had ever driven on. Must have been some kind of weird country tar on the road, you can see it left stripes through the first 2 gears when I launched it, but didn't feel like it was spinning.

When I originally built the engine, I installed 7.400" pushrods from BTR. I was targeting a preload of .050", and it took 11 turns with the pushrod checker to get to zero lash.

(11 turns *.050" per turn) + 6.8" base length of checker + .050" preload = Pushrod length
(.550")+6.8"+.050"=7.400 exactly.

The engine has run perfectly with this setup but I do have a very slight sewing machine noise from the valvetrain that bothers my OCD... I originally thought it was due to the beastly .660 BTR dual springs, but in doing some homework on the interwebs it looks like a value of more like .070"-.090" is needed to keep LS7 lifters happy due to the greater plunger travel. The next available size is 7.425", which increases my preload from .050" to .075". Pushrods are on the way, I plan on doing a before/after video once they're installed.

Dual springs WILL make a little more noise than singles. Inner and outer rubbing....

Been a long time since I updated.

While doing some no-lift shifts, the resulting backfire blew out one of the baffles in the base mufflers on the car and it was rattling around (not the first time this has happened!).

So, the solution was to remove all restrictions. Chopped off the stock mufflers, welded up extensions and tips, shot it with high temp black. Party time!

Out for a couple last rips this season. Trying to avoid putting it away in storage as long as possible

Finished up installing all new LED lights in the garage. The output is incredible, and no more annoying fluorescent flickering/constant bulb changes.

Love the car man. Glad it's up running good for you. Did you ever solve that P0332 code? I have the same one on my car and I'm curious what you did to fix it.You mentioned a pinched wire, and I was thinking that may be my problem too.

I actually haven't touched the tune in well over a year. I think I disabled the code and haven't looked at it since. Car runs awesome.

Hasn't been on a dyno yet, I plan on taking it in the spring to see how it does.

I also bought some ITBs and am still planning on how to integrate those.

I pulled the trigger on an inexpensive ITB system knowing it would need fabrication and "fixing", but since I have to change a lot of things to make it work with my setup, that's not really a problem.

Here is what I'm thinking of doing in terms of actuation - using the OEM TB as a servo to control the ITBs. (Not my video)

So far the machining on the manifold castings is crappy as expected and they need work. More details to come.

Man...watched the video. I wouldn't trust that setup at all. They have it setup so that motor is now opening 8 throttle bodies instead of one. On top of that, the motor is not rotating a single shaft, but is actuating a complicated series of rods and heim joints. No way I would run that.

I agree. WAY too much to go wrong, AND a lot of pulling to ask a DBW TB to do.
All it had to do before was open a throttle blade. NOW it has to open 8 of them along with attendant return spring tension to overcome.

If the DBW TB has a spring already in it, why would you keep the 8 additional springs on the butterflies?

The car is for sale!

With a heavy heart, I've decided to sell her. With a baby on the way, I won't be able to enjoy the car the way it deserves to be driven.

Bump - sale fell through, buyer was not able to commit.

I also dropped the price as I've found another car that fits my needs. Looking to move this FRC along to the right home!

$18,000 OBO
$16,900 OBO
