After 15 seconds of running? Or just key-on, engine off? Not too specific there...

sorry didn't explain it very well. using the old harness, the old oil pressure sensor had three wires the ls has one. we are using an external fuel pump. the computer is shutting it off because its not reading oil pressure but has great pressure. msd is running motor just fine and everything else is working including all gauges. the two extra wires from oil pressure senor one is hot all the time one is switched when you touch them together pump will run all the time. any way to bypass or should I just bypass it all together with new wires and relay

That oil pressure switch is just a back up for the original fuel pump relay. I'm not sure what computer you are referring to that is shutting it off since you are running a carb and MSD box. But, yeah, I would just bypass all the old stuff and wire in your own relay that is turned on with the ignition.

He's probably using the original S10 PCM, which does have an oil pressure cutoff switch. The easiest and quickest way to bypass it would be to figure out which wire on the OEM connector was the switch wire to the relay, then wire it to the positive wire from the same connector.
That'll at least allow you to verify if that's the issue.

you are right on the pcm and when I put switched wire and other together from old oil pressure sensor pump runs continuously. I'm going to get a relay and bypass everything. Thank you guys you've been a great deal of help!

I had the same setup on my 1992 silverado using the trucks oil pump sender. You could either run the fuel pump wire back to the fuel pump or find which wires that are switched at the sender and tie them together. On mine they were the orange wires going to the old sender not sure on yours.
