Default Silverado/Tahoe Fuel Lines in S10 Swap anyone ?

I am near pic-a-part and parts are dirt cheap.

I am in process of getting parts for my 1998 2.2/Auto to 4.8V8/4L60E (S10 4.3). I am going to notch the cross member and use stock 4.8 LS oil pan. My truck is not going to be lowered. I already have 2002 Tahoe's wire harness that I am going to rework.

Fuel Pump:
Since my 1998 uses return style fuel system, I am going to get S10 4.3 V6 S10 (non flex-fuel) for $15. Will this work? Is it drop in my 2.2 fuel tank? Fuel lines same?

Fuel Line:
Not very many Silverado but there are several 2002 Tahoe's there. Can I use it's fuel line that runs from the motor to the tank ? Will it fit the 4.3 fuel pump? Any other cheap alternative? Cost is only $10!

Thanks!

If you already have the Flex Fuel pump in your truck, keep it. It supports over 400hp in stock form, IIRC. Check out the s10forum.com LS swap section. Also, user Petro (over there)/Petrazewski (here, I believe) might have info regarding it.

Unfortunately, its not FlexFuel. I did a fuel pressure check and it's only 35psi!

Our local pick a part is going to have a 50% off sale next weekend and I will be getting tons of stuff. The complete fuel pump housing assembly is going to be only $17 and just a pump is $10. At this cost, I will get a spare.

My 4.8 has return type fuel lines so I am thinking the best thing to do is to get a 4.3V6 fuel pump & housing assembly.

I can also get just the FlexFuel Fuel Pump for $10. I believe the lines different size of FlexFuel so its not a drop in. Fuel lines will be only $5!

What do you think?

I'd probably go FlexFuel pump.

Oh, it wasn't Petrazewski, it was Black X on S10forums, where I saw it:

Can I install the flex fuel pump inside the non-flex fuel pump housing ?

Not sure. I haven't gotten that far yet. I plan to run one. Try the s10forum.com LS swap section and do some searching.

Try starting here:

http://www.s10forum.com/forum/f213/f...ations-423549/

Should get you started. Don't rush it because the JY is having a sale...or ****** it up, and if you don't use it you should have no problems getting your money back out of it.

If I switch to FlexFuel fuel pump, I would also have to switch the fuel rails I think. I dont think they can be capped off.

I used silverado lines on my swap but cut and used compression unions to connect to the old s10 lines
