Default 67 Chevelle ls1 conversion

I’m picking up a 99 Corvette ls1 engine but it does not have the front end accessory drive system. I’m wondering what works best for fitment into the 67 Chevelle? I want to run everything including air conditioning. Still early in the planning stage but thinking I’ll use Holley/Hooker for installation hardware. Any help is appreciated.

There is enough room for any of the three alignments, plus room above for a truck intake if so desired.

It's going to need to be one with a high mount alternator/ low mount power steering pump. Some have PS pump pulley clearance issues.

The best fitment in the A body cars is the Holley accessory drive like the corvette setup. You can see some of my latest pics on the last page of my build thread. I'm not running AC but it would be up high on the passenger side.

Also while you do your swap I would toss out your power steering box and do the Jeep grand cherokee box swap. It's one of the best mods you can do for a better feel and it's metric so you can find hoses to bolt right up to the LS pump.

Thanks for the info guys, I wish I could have gotten the Corvette accessory drive but the seller is building a turbocharged race car so he kept all that stuff. I’ll ckeck out the Jeep box too. This is stuff I need to know.

Easiest thing to do would be to read several Chevelle / GOT build threads, most of the stuff is applicable across the board for most years. Can save a lot of headache later.

I know, I read and research the C5 forum for two years before buying my Corvette. I’ll keep reading and if anyone comes up a particularly good link, post it up.

The batwing pan and the C5 manifolds are not going to work in a Chevelle. Your best option is the Holley swap components and the Holley 302-3 oil pan.

I did a 67 cutlass a few years back and if I was to do it again I would do the Holley mounts and oil pan. I have a mast pan and lsx innovation mounts using the 2nd furthest back position. This works well but it was not bolt in like the Holley kit is.

My initial plans are to use the Holley mounts and pan. A few years back I loaned Holley my 95 Impala SS to do some prototype work for an exhaust system they were working on. Since I only live about 60 miles from their r&d garage in Bowling Green I drove up and dropped off my car for a week and they gave me $250.00 in merchandise in return. I think they have some good quality parts.

$325 shipped, Sure wish this would have been available when I converted mine. I cut up an F body pan, extend the pickup must have had 30 hours into layup, and the tierods still touch when on the stops.
