Bracket to low mount AC on 6 rib???

Default Bracket to low mount AC on 6 rib???

Been doing some searching and have seen some custom home built setups but is there a vendor or anyone who sells one to drive compressor of the main belt low mount f body accessories?


I think street and performance might have when they were around. Anyhelp is greatly appreciated. Im running the hooker mounts and notched the frame but i wont be able to run it off the 4 rib in the 69 camaro build.

AlanGrooveConcepts http://www.alangrovecomponents.com/LS.htm has the factory dedicated AC position. If you contact them, they might be willing to make a kit for you. Worth a shot.

DirtyDingo has the tightest compressor mounting(10.5" from crank bolt center)
Kwikperformance has the tightest tensioner mounting down low, but kicks the compressor out to 12"+. Both run the fbody offset and the ac pulley behind the dampner

Dirty dingo won't work unfortunately since it runs off the rear 4 rib. I need the compressor to be spaced forward and driven off f body main 6 rib belt drive to clear the motor mounts.

gotchya, I missed that. Id call em both up. It looks like they both are adjustable. Maybe you can run the compressor forward more in a different offset to match main pulley. A little fabbing mite be in order, but using a kit that's close already mite save you a lot of time. Look up the truck accessory spacing in relation to the fbody. You mite make up an inch or so right there. Mite not have much more to go.

Is it possible that you won't have enough "wrap" around the crankshaft pulley if you do this? Just asking........

You have to add extra idler pulleys. I made my own, similar to the S&P brackets, only at a fraction of the cost. Works good, but never could keep the belt from squealing when the compressor kicked on using the factory tensioner. I figured I didn't have something quite right until a guy I know who has the actual S&P set up said his does the same thing. Not sure why they do that, but a Katech manual tensioner fixed my issue.

do you have pictures of your setup? which one of the cars in the build was this for?
