Default 1954 Chevy 3100 5.3

So I picked up this truck back in July 2017 it had 250 i6 with a TH350 but it just isn’t cutting it for me. I been doing some research and reading some of the build threads and I decided on going with a 5.3 with a 4L60E that I’m getting from a buddy of mine. Luckily the 5.3 is still in the truck so I’ll be able to get everything I need.I know speedway makes a set of mounts and plenty of other companies do too but what are some of you guys preference as far motor mounts and trans crossmemebrs.

I went with a set of Holley mounts which allowed me to reuse my El Camino stock cross member. I love your model of truck and the Apache that came after it. I will try to follow your build as you get going.

Dirty Dingo mounts allow you to move the engine back and forth to help with cross member location. Nice truck, those are getting rare especially the 5 window.

Here are some of the “pretty” welds that were on the truck of the rear axle and the old motor mounts

I used some althread to get my centers dead right on the spring hats.
Just a little update doesn’t seem like much but I got the old suspension off. The rivets on the old leaf spring brackets I had to grind down the head and drill most of it out than punch them out. I also got the MII crossmeebr tacked in and assembled, I’m satisfied how it all turned out.

The accuair Endo CVT and E-level kit finally came in. It took me 5 weeks to get this thing. The compressor and sylinoids are built inside of the 5 gallon tank, it’s suppose to be really quiet so I’m planning on mounting it behind the seat where the gas tank was at.
