thanks man!! Jakes called me yesterday and said my converter was shipping this morning, ****! Now do I wait and put it in or just put the stock converter in and play it safe lol. I think I’ll ply it safe, and if it comes in and I have time I’ll swap it in

Motor is in, trans is In, motor mounts finished and bolted down, gas tank out, drained, and had a garden hose running through it for 10 hours, old fuel lines removed, trans crossmeber moved and redrilled to fit, etc etc.

i usually gather parts untill I’m ready and then drop it all in, it isn’t much different than just changing motor when you don’t have to wait on parts lol

Awesome progress today! Made my alt brackets, installed accessories, steam vent done, x pipe put in with mufflers, done. Harness laid in and ran knto
car, radiator lowered appx 3” (because I’m going over the top with a 4” intake tube and building a box in the grill for Lnice clean air) and hoses done and installed, shifter bracket made and hooked up, driveshaft converted and installed, filled with oil, swapped out my old converter for the new one, an a bunch of other stuff.

All i I have left is intigrate the harness intonthe car inside, trans fluid, tranny cooler, obd2 port, tune it, and power steering lines, and fuel pump/fan relays and wiring.

Got a few things to finish wiring wise, and get the rear done and in. She runs good, no smoke, no blow by, and 40# at idle and 80# wot, even after reusing everything. Gotta love these damn motors lol.

Took her to dinner yesterday in it while her parents and friends followed behind, 30 minute drive. Pulled into town and people were breaking knocks to look at it, the wife was grinning ear to ear. Her mom and dad went outside and were taking pictures with it after we ate, was pretty cool. Totally worth killing myself all week.

Wow! that was quick! Nice job, absolute awesome story/history on car!

The original tank in my 78 was sumped like what you did. Worked nicely, I got tired of noisy external pump.

Nice to see a 5.3 with accessories fit under the hood!
