Default FWD auto to mate to LT4

Apologies if this is a really ignorant question, but can anyone tell me if there is a FWD auto transmission that will mate to the 6.2L LT4 engine, or that might be easily adapted? What I'm actually looking to do is build a mid-engine kit where I can mount a mated V8 and auto tranny with paddle-shifter capability, rather than the told turn-the-G50-upside-down trick. Thanks for any tips.

None of the FWD autos will bolt up because they use a few different bellhousing bolt patterns and none of them are base off the SBC pattern, but if you use an adapter plate, there are a few options. Most of these threads are LS based, but the same should be possible with the LT family as well. The big question is how long they will last at higher power levels.

4T80 - factory transmission for the mid 90s to early 2000 Northstar engines. Here it is used alongside a turbo'd LS4

4T65 - factory transmission for the FWD LS4. This thread lost all it pictures, but was a truck based 427cid build with an adapter plate and the 4T65.

Using either of the above transmissions requires cutting the starter pad off the RWD engine as the transmissions must slide up alongside the engine. Both the N* and LS4 were designed for this, but when you look at adapting other RWD engines to these transmission, especially it is a rather expensive engine, then it is something to be aware of.

6T70/75 - factory 6 speed auto in a lot of non-v8 FWD cars and FWD based SUVs. Here someone installed one alongside a LS2:

This transmission just bolts to the end of the engine, so it does not need the same starter pad modification the above 2 transmission need.
