Hahahaha I took some video on my phone from inside my car but it looked like it was filmed by Michael J Fox. Need to get a recording device with some stabilization.
No huge updates on the car. I have been putting a few miles on the BMW, but it has been so hot lately the car mainly sits in the garage. I did put a square (8.5s on all four sides) set of wheels on the car. Two of the rims need to be repaired due to some sever curb rash and bad black paint (see picture below).
I have never had a set of wheels refinished, but I was super happy with how they turned out. I also took the opportunity to toss some fresh tires on. The others were pretty beat.
This past Saturday at the local airport they held Appetites, Airplanes, and Automobiles. They serve breakfast and display some cool airplanes and cars. Took the chance to swing by with the BMW.
Two weekends ago I took the car to its 2nd track day. The car did great and made it through all three session. There are a few items I need to address but nothing too crazy. I was able to shave 5 seconds off my previous best time at this track, but there is still a ton of time left to pick up.
Here is a video from one of the laps. Sorry for the vibration sound currently tracking that one down.
Its been some time since my last update so I thought I would put a quick post together. The car has been doing great, and I am just trying to refine and dial everything in. This past weekend I went to the National Corvette Museum (NCM) track in Bowling Green, KY for the SCCA Time Trials. This was my first time at NCM, and I was blown away by the track and facility. It is a pretty technical track with a good amount of blind corners, crests, and elevation changes.
Here is a quick video from a few laps during the second session. I kept getting caught behind couple Miata's that wouldn't provide a point by, or were too slow to pass each other quickly.
Once I got the car back home I put it up on the lift fully expecting to see something coming apart or leaking, but I was pleasantly surprised to find none of the above.
All in all it was an absolute blast, and can't wait to go back. I have another track day coming up in 2 weeks and I am currently getting the car ready for another outing.
Wanted to share some photos from the last track event. The car did great and a I set a new personal best. The car need some refinement but its getting there.
