Recently purchased a 70s muscle car with an LS1 swap- the car runs great but auto-accelerates at times. I can be cruising at 30mph and it slowly creeps up within a few blocks to 35, then 40 and so forth.
Can anyone help me figure out why it auto-accelerates? I have sealed the EGR valve and installed a brand new PCV hose set. The car runs without a MAF sensor, it was turned off by the shop who did the swap.

Might check for vacuum leaks. PCV system, brake booster & intake manifold. Had an experience when an intake manifold had three bolts loose, and the PVC & brake booster hooks ups were crossed.
Also LS1's are about 20 years old in some cases and those intake manifold gaskets can get so they don't seal well and need replaced. Be careful tightening the intake manifold bolts if you retorque them.
does the car have cruise control? I had a cruise control module act up causing a similar problem even when not on or using. I think something in the cable was snagging but I replaced the module and cable and it was fine after that.
