Awesome build. Doesn't seem like a year has passed when you're on the outside looking in.

Nice job. I'd say finishing a build with that level of quality in a year is quite commendable...it seems to take me longer that that just to rotate my tires these days.

Probably doesn't seem like a year because the thread isn't that old. I didn't have time to start the thread until I was well under way, I was 9 months in before I started the thread.

Thanks, man! I likely wont be doing nay more in record time because it tends to burn you out. I really just wanted to prove to myself I could do it really quick, but realize now that once the fun is taken out of it, it's just like having another job!

Yeah, timelines do have a way of taking the fun out of things. What is the going rate for an exhaust system build at a local exhaust shop in your area? I can tell that it's a 2.5" system, did you go with aluminized tubing front to back? Did you go under the trailing arm crossmember, or through it?

Yeah, its just a standard aluminized system, that's about all they use around here any more, and its run pretty much like the factory did it, under the crossmember. The mufflers are horizontal though rather than vertical which I think is how they were originally. It was $400 out the door, but it does have stock mufflers, since I'm getting tired of loud cars in my old age apparently! LOL!

Its one I picked up at the Pick n Pull out of a '74 Chevy van. It's real similar to a 67-72 truck shroud, but the lower mounts needed to be modified a bit. I only used it because I couldn't find a truck shroud at the time.

Yes, it was the same truck with primered bed sides and it wasn't far from your neighbournood.

GEEZER!!! Haha!

The real reason you like quiet exhaust is you like to slide into a show unannounced and park without anyone noticing. You probably also want to be able to talk and think while driving. Nothing wrong with that.

I will admit to having become more noise adverse also in regards to any street driven vehicle. The cost on your exhaust system seems reasonable as long as the guy doing the work was able to meet your fitment and craftsmanship expectations.

You stalking me now???? And yeah, I like to sneak into shows so that the no neck troll doesn't know I'm there! LOL!!

I'm happy with the way it turned out. They did a good job snaking the tailpipes over the rear axle where there wasn't a lot of room, and I haven't heard it hit anything yet, so seems to be good.

How can I stalk you when I get everywhere first? I think you're stalking me but you're in denial. Haha!!!
Good plan. I told you I saw your favourite bridge troll and his girl in Belton lurking round last weekend.

Todd, you bring up an interesting point. The older I get the quieter my exhaust and cars in general tend to be. Hmmm...

I have a semi-plausible reason for this- As we get older, we get pickier about how the ENGINE itself sounds, and don't want the exhaust roar getting in the way....
Think anyone will buy it???

I think I might be a little outside the norm with my reasoning on this...I’m a music fan and hearing it in a street driven vehicle is as important as hearing the exhaust/engine.

Well, that would be the real reason as opposed to the gearhead reason. And given the right music, they CAN go together very well. Play Deep Purple's "Highway Star" while going thru the gears...

Badass build man! I am getting ready to swap in a 6.0 in my C10 as well. Love how clean your builds are!

Are you still making the speedo conversion kits?

Thanks. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out, just have a few things left to do to it.
As for the speedo kits, yes, I still have them.
