Yet another '72 short bed build....
I usually use ECE drop spindles, but got a good deal on these CPP ones so that's what it has in the front. In the rear are 4" drop springs, but not sure of brand.
Cleaned up and painted.
Then dug out the engine. I cocooned it in plastic wrap, a big plastic bag and then some sheets so it wouldn't get overspray on it again. Yes, I said again! I painted it once, then covered it and painted my Blazer top and it got totally covered in just enough white overspray to require it to be torn down and repainted....

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
Loaded up and on the way.
After we unloaded the frame we headed to where the donor truck was. I bought this from him like 5 years ago and it's been just sitting since. Time to get it cleaned up and finally do something with it.
It was originally a Chinook motorhome, so most likley never driven in any bad weather. It has just under 67k original miles on it and was a running and driving truck when my buddy bought it.
It was originally from up around the Seattle Washington area which is where my buddy had it shipped in from. Ironically, when it first showed up, I picked it up from the carrier and drove it to his house. It looks a little grungy (get it? Seattle, haha, I know, I'm lame) but it's pretty solid! Time to get it loaded up and head back.
Not a lot going on under the hood.
Some real weird rust on the drivers side fender though. Not sure how this piece could be totally gone when the outside of the fender is alright?
For reference, this side is in tact...
I'll replace the driver's side fender so not a big deal. The rest of the sheet metal is pretty nice.
Slight crease in the passenger door.
Mostly stripped out now.
Pushed it outside to pressure wash out 46 years of grime.
Once clean you could really tell how nice the cab was!
Clean!
