I spliced in the gutted Cayman muffler to quiet down things while I work on getting things going. I'm having trouble putting gas in the car, seems the roll over system in the gas tank is acting up !!!!!!! any recordation's ????
Sorry all I have been working on the car and its running great !!!!! This thing is ridiculously quick, honestly I haven't given it full throttle yet. I'll post some pictures and videos soon
Happy New Year !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have been driving the car working on the complete package. Getting a car like this "running" is just
the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I gave the car a big road test of about 3k miles last month. From WA state to So. Cal (1200 miles one way).
The car ran great with no issues. I installed a set of H&R street coilovers, a numeric shifter with the cables. I also wired up a 1-6 digital gear shift indicator. Crafting a 7 way grounding circuit was interesting but it works great and is handy to have with a 6 speed. I relocated the electric P/S pump to the front bumper area next to the driver side radiator.
I'll get some pics and videos up later today !!
Looks great, well done. Can we get some more details on how you wired up the gear indicator on the dash? Something I'd like to tinker with while my car is put up for the winter.
I am moving back to Southern California, (Irvine) this year. Before I go the Cayman is going to get a fresh new black paint job. My bud has a paint and body shop and we have worked together trading labor for labor, otherwise I wouldn't put a trillion dollar into this project. I'm not going to be able to take this with me because of the emission rules in CA. Looks like I'm going to sell it in the near future. I have about 20k in the car not including the millions of hours of labor LOL. I'm sure the car's worth something I just don't have a good feel for its value ?????? any ideas ???
I’ve seen swapped 911s go for 30-55k depending on year and condition. I’d list it for 30-35k and see who bites. I’m also in WA state if that helps. Good luck!
I really love this car; its operation has been flawless. I have driven it from here in Lynden WA. to Irvine CA. (2500 miles) with no issues. Moving to CA. will have its challenges but there are ways to register cars like this outside the controlled county's without being thrown in the slammer LOL ...***
Wow people are still willfully moving to Commiefornia? Its not going to be as easy as you think and they have “Special units” that go around harassing drivers for basic bolt on parts that have nothing to do with emissions. Beautiful car, i think $40,000-$50,000 would be a fair price since its more on the mild side.
I spent 25 years working in G.M. dealerships doing tune-up and driveability work including having a smog license. I could install a G.M. connect and cruse packagedotthe i's andcross the t's which would be working with the state referee stations bla bla bla. It's a special kind of car, Uneek and provides a true raw high-performance experience not found in many cars. Below is a pic of my 1970 Porsche 914 with a old school 350 and a 930 4 speed built 15 years ago, that was a fun one as well.
This was my second V8 914 the chasse was built by a master called "Jeff" from Fullerton CA. I installed the engine and built it up bla bla bla. should have kept that one. A big car builder in LOS Vagas bought it and poured 60k into it. A crazy build twin turbo bla bla bla .
