2 additional questions that I have:

1) Do we know which polarity to wire for the Brake switch input, for TCC unlock? With my current setup (Painless wiring, 0411 ECU), it was a big point about wiring it a certain way, and it wasn't 100% clear in the TermX instructions. I've swapped to an OEM (Monte Carlo) brake switch, so I have both NO and NC contacts that I can use..

2) Is there a list of recommended Manifold Air Temp sensors to use with the system? My kit is the Early Truck kit, but they have the IAT in the MAF, which will be eliminated. I want to make sure to buy the correct sensor that will fit the harness, and match the programming.

Bonus question:

If a fuel pressure sensor is used, is it just for display/logging, or is it actively factoring in pressure into the fueling?

Thanks!

1. Sounds like the gray wire needs to see 12+ volts when brakes are applied. This will unlock the converter.

2. I would call Holley to confirm, but looking at the MAT sensor connector, it looks like you will need to install this sensor:
https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...s/parts/534-20

Bonus: Fuel pressure is strictly for logging and monitoring. It is not used for fueling computations.

Thats the IAT sensor we use normally.

Thanks for the info!

The holley IAT looks a lot like an AC Delco 213-190 which I think I have lying around, I'll give that a try and see if it's reading accurately. Otherwise, I'll pick up the holley one next week.

I believe you are correct. It is a very common GM part from numerous late 80s to early 90s GM vehicles.

Its the same, you dont have to purchase the holley one, almost any auto parts usually carries them also.

Truckdoug made a nice video showing the software. I may do one as well from the perspective of a past Holley software user.

I don't know...you can buy a running/driving donor for the price of one of these systems. These are certainly a great option, if you aren't on a junkyard budget, tho.

Right. THEN you need to thin the harness. How many can do that successfully? Not many. They then go tom Speartech for a $950 harness which goes in painlessly, Then you need to tune the combo. HP Tuners to the rescue! For a lot more $$$. OR you get a mail order tune for a few hundred more $$$.
See where this is going? Holley has their package for starting at less than $1k. ECM, harness, WBO2, and software that does not need a laptop. Junkyard budgets rarely stay that way AND run well. There are some, but the owner has to know/learn a LOT to do so.

I have and will continue to use HPT and the stock p01 p59's. They're great. Now that LS Droid and PCM Hammer are maturing to the point of usefulness, I dont think the stock PCM's are going anywhere.

but they don't offer boost control, boost by gear, 2 step or a built in WB...which when you add them up makes the terminator a great deal.

horses for courses. more options is good.

This seems like a pretty legit setup! I'm new to the GM world and I just picked up an 02 T/A with a turbo. I planned on going auto eventually and I am excited to try this system out.

Forgive me if this is already addressed, but can this run VVT? I have an L96 engine with Mast's HO cam for VVT so I don't want to ditch that.

Just read through this entire thread. For folks who can manage all this -- what a treasure trove of info there is in this thread. A nod to all who contributed - and you know who your are as you contribute regularly in the forum.

For folks who can't manage all this (Definition of Christmas -- the holiday my 45 year old daughter comes home to download new music onto my iPhone) -- I SO made the right decision to use a stock GM ecu with a stock crate motor. And I still haven't found the answer I was looking for - do I cut the blue wire or the red wire?

VVT is a no go. I think the main reason for this is mostly liability. Holley does have a VVT box for the Coyote and it has as many warnings on it as a lawn mower.

I got my kit yesterday even though it wasn't due to ship until today. Pretty stoked on the whole setup but I won't be able to install it for a few weeks as I'm still finishing my long block and need to pull the old Porsche drivetrain out. I think this kit will save me a ton of heartache on the back end. Now I just need to learn the software and start looking at outputs. Someone mentioned you can't get vehicle speed output with the regular Term X package but Holley told me this was possible. I guess we'll see. Maybe I can run a GPS signal to my Porsche speedo to make it all work.

there's a ton of ways to get a VSS for speedo. abs sensor would be my first choice.

So how is the boost control function used with a typical TurboSmart or Tial wastegate?

Thanks!!

you'd add a 3 port solenoid and the ecu will control the solenoid duty cycle

they have a very well detailed instruction manual for the boost control feature here
