Engine Squealing

Hello all,

I just got my conversion on the road and it has now begun to make a loud squealing noise. I thought for sure it had to be the belt because it sounds just like a belt squeal, but its not. I pulled the belt off and it still makes the noise. It almost sounds like it is coming from the engine unfortunately...the motor is a 2005 5.3l. Has anybody dealt or know what could be causing this noise? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did you do anything to the engine before installing it? Coming from the front or rear of the engine?

The only thing I did to it was swap out the truck manifold for a LS1 intake, but no internal work. It sounds more like the rear of the engine.

Could it be a vacuum leak? Does it fade on opening the throttle or change its sound?

The sound does change with engine speed. Here is a short video of the noise. The exhaust is kind of loud so you'll have to listen for it.

Vacuum leak. It goes away as soon as you hit the throttle, and comes back once vacuum builds again. It could be a manifold vacuum fitting with the hose off, or one of the gasket O-rings is leaking. Check your whole manifold install.

Just wanted to close the loop on this in case anyone else ends up with the same issue. Turns out I had the PCV system plumbed incorrectly when I went from the truck intake to the car intake. All seems good now. Thank you so much all the help!
