Default l96 in 07 tahoe

hi guys my 07 Tahoe engine took a crap and wanted to replace it with a l96 and if it has dod,vvt I want to delete it as well.
first:does the l96 has flex fuel
second:could I use the factory Tahoe ecm after tunning to run the l96
third:would I have to change flywheel to use my 4l60e
fourth:would my all my sensor plugs plug into the l96 engine or would I have to use the 5.3 sensors

1. Yes, the L96 has Flex Fuel Injectors (50lb), also it does not have DOD but it does have VVT
2. Yes, you can use the factory Tahoe ECM, you will just need to get a tune
3. Yes, you will need to swap over the flex plate from your 5.3 engine to the L96 to use the 4l60e
4. Yes, all the connections from your existing harness will plug into the L96

VVT is the easier of the two to delete. Cam, sprocket, front cover, sensor. VVT-only engines use all normal lifters.

Not really. Pull the valve covers, remove the rocker arms and pushrods. Once you have the front stripped down and timing set off, turn the cam a few times to get the lifters "stuck" in the lifter trays in the "up" position. Pull the cam, put in the new one and replace all the parts just removed. Very easy compared to the old SBC.

While doing this either have the engine upside down , pan up ,,,,or put 5/16s dowels in the holes by the cam sprocket , rarely a lifter will drop , as the lifter trays wear ,,, usaly on high mileage engines , just a safety precaution , l96 is a hell of an engine

It might be the cam sensor if the 5.3 was Gen III.

Got the engine in the truck tonight but another issue.the map sensor on the l96 doesn't plug into my harness and the map sensor off the 5.3 don't exactly fit in the intake but I think I can modify it to work but would this effect anything

You will need to convert the cam drive and front cover over to non-VVT parts to use the non-VVT camsensor plug.
