Default Build Thread: 92 BMW 325is LH6 DCT Swap

Hello Everyone,

I am now starting my second LS swap project. Another BMW. First one was my E30 ls1 swapped. Now I want to build something different.
I have purchased the following and I have been working the build:

92 325is - car is manual with a limited slip diff.
11 BMW 335is DCT - 80k miles on the tranny, will do a fluid swap
07 LH6 Buick Rainer - Complete engine assembly

The engine controller is going be a stock e40 ECU with HP Tuners, while the TCU controller is called DKGECU, and it's soldered directly into the transmission in place of the factory controller.

Engine Adapter Plate I'm using is made for a N54 trans (same bolt pattern) to LS.
Flywheel adapter I am using a Corvette Engine side Flexplate (called Drive Plate) to a custom adapter to the Dual Mass DCT Flywheel insert from an M4

The Car:

07 LH6:

The DCT with Mecatronics Open:

3D SCAN of the Trans Bellhousing:

Splines:

Bellhousing Adapter:

M4 DCT Flywheel:

Corvette Drive Plate:

Adapter CAD model:

What's the torque rating of that tranny? This looks like it's got the potential to be a lot of fun! Who makes the tranny control module?

These are the guys that make the TCU: https://www.dkgecu.com
There are other companies like HTG that are making similar things, using standalone controllers to control the solenoid in the gearbox itself.
The trans rating is fairly low from factory, 520 Nm or around 380 Ft-lbs. It seems that with stock clutches and increased clutch pressure they seem to hold up to 750 ft-lbs, when they need clutch pack upgrade

Nice to see another LS - DCT combo. I still haven't decided on HTG or DKG for my swap.

Its exciting to know more people are doing it!
i decided to go with DKG just due to the availability as I started thinking about it last year and it was the only option (other then Syvecs S7)
Honestly I’m surprised that there aren’t many Standalone units that support the stock DCT as it’s CANBus driven.
I’m having the adapter machined this week and should be making some progress soon. I will post pictures of it as soon as I get it
