I just ordered one off of Amazon. Real deal Walbro. Ti bought them out some 15-20 years ago but only recently changed the packaging so do be alarmed. I gave a little less than $60 for a 255 pump only.

Be careful when ordering on Amazon. There have been fake products sold through them. Some people claim to have gotten fakes occasionally from Amazon directly, but when something is sold through a third party seller on Amazon marketplace, there is a greater chance of it. There was a rash of fake EOTech holographic weapon sights for firearms that were coming from Amazon which were obvious Chinese knock offs of the real deal. These are around $600 each, and the clones are only worth about $100 or so. People were not happy.

Amazon takes fake products very seriously. I would not hesitate for a second to order a Walbro off Amazon.

If you look on Walbro's own website there is a big *** disclaimer right across the page for the 255 pumps that there is a high number of counterfeits out there and to buy it from an authorized dealer due to the risk. I would buy it from someplace like Summit or Jegs or TanksInc or from Walbro direct, they have an online store. Amazon, even though they do crack down on bad sellers with fake ****, is probably your highest odds of getting screwed outside of Ebay.

You pay about twice as much on any of those sites, when every TI Automotive pump is serialized and you can call TI Automotive to verify authenticity. Walbro as a brand doesn't exist anymore, hasn't for a few years, so I doubt Walbro has a direct website.

I've had two Walbros that I have no reason to suspect are fake. Both were very loud. I have since swapped one of them out for a DW200 pump, which is virtually silent.

I don't know about that. The situation I mentioned went on for quite awhile. Ultimately, I don't know how it was resolved for anyone it happened to.

I ordered this spicy boi from Summit, and it's legit. Couldn't be happier so far.

OP, how do you know it's a fake? I've had my share of bad authentic Walbros so they're not exactly immune to going bad.

Just order a Walbro 340 instead, you'll have greater chance to get the real one, simply because the chinese prefer to fake the 255!
