Default 5.3 to 6.0 won’t spline in

5.3 to 6.0 won’t spline one?
Had an LM7 in my car with 4+3. Sold and just tried to get my lq4 in with same clutch/flywheel and mounts in the same exact spot but we can not get it to spline in. Any ideas? It is not the extended crank 6.0 either. 🤷‍♂️

This is the 6.0. Can anyone confirm this is not the extended crank?

That is not a extended crank. Possibly the wrong pilot bearing? Not really enough info.

The tranny's in the car? If it were me, I'd want to mate engine and transmission outside the car - then install them together. In 5 decades of wrenching on these things, I've never had anything but trouble trying to get the transmission and engine back together with the transmission installed in the car first.

I'd confirm you don't have a pilot bearing issue by measuring with calipers diameters and depth to be sure that's not holding things up. Also, since a new block/dowel placement is involved, you really should mount your flywheel and bell housing sans transmission and use a dial indicator to check that the hole in the bell is within spec for 1) centering with the crank center and 2) that the transmission mounting surface of the bell is parallel to the flywheel.

Just for easy verification, measure to verify the pilot of the maindrive fits into the bearing and isn't bottoming splines against the bearing.
Pull the clutch. Put the QT back on. Seat the trans. It should seat. If it does, put your clutch back on, and wobble the alignment tool until it's centered before you tighten the pressure plate bolts.

That pilot bearing is intended for the later cars with like a TR6060 and the taller bellhousing.

What trans setup have you, and what pilot etc was used before ?

t10(26 spline), Sachs 1050 + clutch ordered for a late 2nd Gen camaro, ls7 pilot bearing.
I just pulled the engine back out and the clutch disc has moved so it wasn’t lined up with the pilot bearing. Not sure if it moved during the install since I did use a plastic alignment tool and tightened it down.
I did remove the dowels from the Sachs 1050 so the clutch pressure plate would work.

Same pilot bearing that was used in the previous 5.3

Do you mean remove the clutch disc and try and mate the trans to engine with the pressure plate and flywheel in place?
I guess I can skip that since I’ve confirmed the pilot bearing does fit the input shaft.
