Before you get the hammer out, look at your lower column mount. I bet there is enough play in the mounting plate to bump the column over and clear the manifold.

I will give it a look in the morning. It will most certainly save me time and energy.

I was able to grab some LS3 exhaust manifolds and they fit amazing. I'm feeling like these are a much better fit than the C5 manifolds.

I may have to notch the hood on the drivers side. We shall see though.

Awesome steering shaft clearance.

Those look like the 5th gen Camaro manifolds that I mentioned. If you get the ZL1 manifolds they will be stainless steel, which will make modifying them a lot easier.

Correct. I will be on the lookout for a great deal on the ZL1 version.

These were at the top of my list when I was considering doing a twin turbo setup on my GTO. I'm eager to see how they work for you.

The two snails are mounted.

I'm having issues with the brake system. The master cylinder and hydroboost sticks out too far.

Going to move the prop valve to the passenger side. This should free up the space for the downpipe.

Time to ditch the hydro boost for a Bosch iBooster. I am glad those manifolds are working for you!

You have a link or anything I can get educated on this iBooster? Is it expensive? I'm tired of buying twice. But if it works better in the long run I'm fine with it.

After searching for tesla iBoosters, the prices of them are very high. I'm going to alleviate the issue with a quick 90 degree elbow along with another to drop the downpipe level.

I have the turbo downpipes mocked up and went ahead and modified the turbo headers. I would like to tuck the downpipes in an inch or so away from the headers. Any suggestions on how to do it?

What happened to the manifolds?

I wasn't able to close my hood sadly when I measured it. The one on the passenger side was the issue. On the driver side it was interfering with my brake system too much. I really wanted to use them.

If you find the stainless steel ones, you can cut the flange and possibly position the turbos where you want them.

After shortening the headers again, I like the position of turbos. My issue now is I would like to tuck the downpipes in more. I'm going to try cutting some 90 degree elbows in half to bring them in more. The two 45 degree cuts should do it.

Before you go much further, you may want to mock up the wastegates...

Apologies for the gap in posts. Currently finishing up command and in the midst of PCSing (military). I was finally able to finish up the down pipes, install the fuel tank, and start running fuel lines.

Default Back at it

So I am back working on the project. I installed the new turbo manifolds. I have a few issues. 1) I have to flip my hydroboost unit which will not be an issue. 2) My steering shaft is hitting my manifolds and I can't dent these in like my headers. I wonder if I could drop my steering column output around 2 inches? Which will clear the manifolds.

Why can't I live in a perfect world where all custom things fit.
