First let me send my upmost thanks for all the information I have gotten from this website over the years.

The Story:

Originally I was turboing a 03 Mach 1. Wellllllll I got a bunch of parts together and looked around and had the stuff to put together alot more power than I had car and all the wrong setup (stick, deep gears) to go forward with where I was in life. So I sold it all did an eaton swap and street raced it ....... alot...... Fast forward a couple years and Me and the fam decided to go on an adventure to the other side of the world. Not wanting to leave the ol stang in storage after all of the horror stories I sold it to a friend. The problem was is that a cheap SWB cropped up on facebook right before I left. It captivated me and so I bought it and that's where we begin.

Wellll…… I have a 5.3 that I'm swapping in right now. After I get the truck lined out I'll stick a 7875 to it just for fun.

After picking it up from VA Beach I drove it all the way to Arkansas a few months later. No gauges except the oil pressure work, it breaks up once you get into the secondaries. It has the worst bump steer I have ever personally witnessed and trust me when I say I have driven some real junk and this joker has made me respect its authority. It was so bad that when I was driving from my dads in Northwest Arkansas to North central Arkansas in the mountains it would change lanes. For anyone who has ben in that part of the country there are alot of roads that are still narrow and have no where to go when you get in trouble. This monster on a down hill left handed sweeper at 80 hit a bump and put me into on coming traffic down hill. Now why are you going 80 down hill in the mountains in a **** box? The 305 that could has a holley 600 that cant and so to keep out of the secondaries I took all advantages of down hills to get up speed ( if you know then you know). Anyway I digress, here are some of the pictures of the Gen 3 5.3 I grabbed and did a corona and 4 loko rebuild on. It has an SS2 cam, Pac spings, with a new oil pump. Other then that I didn't touch it. I did commit the ultimate sin and checked the cam bearings but they were good.

NEVER and I repeat NEVER check the Cam Bearings... Reason 1 I didn't run the 5.3 I had in mine afterall... I'm in for updates, hopefully I can grab a C10 myself soon, but too many projects going on at once myself.

Motor is in, but me being me I forgot to oblong the holes for the converter. I’m running the th350 for now which coupled with this cam and a stock converter should make for a crappy driving experience. I’ll upgrade to 4l80 later this year. 3rd problem is the trans crossmember is for a single exhaust and won’t work with the exhaust I have. Soooo new crossmember is in the works.

So
So I’ve been working on this wiring harness and am getting to the point where I need to start consolidating the pink wires etc. what wire is everyone using? I don’t want to just run some off the shelf autozone gear. Also i see a lot of people running a fuse/ relay block. What’s the go-to piece of gear? I seen what the ls1 wiring swap gentleman suggested was just curious what everyone’s thoughts were.

On an unrelated note I got these low back buckets from the junkyard. Hopefully someone local can use them. If not I may save them for another project.

I have drain questions and feed line questions. I’ve seen drain to pan and drain to timing cover. I’d prefer cover right now because of having to pull the motor not being fun. But can I drill/ tap the timing cover with 90’s ?I’ve seen several welded but I don’t have access to aluminum welders. Anyone drilling with grease on the bit and tap with pan on? I’ve looked at several on here just curious what is the preferred method and fitting size. Lastly, is everyone just running the one feed from above the filter and t’ing of?
