And if you're thinking vinyl top, maybe paint the roof and pillars black to simulate it. Or even carry it over to the hood and trunk to completely two tone it similar to this but with white instead of sliver (again not exact year):

The red pin stripe to break up the two tone would even go along with the red interior.

It would also pair well with white, gold, or bronze rims. White would be work to keep clean, but man does it look sharp especially with rims that have a deep lip.
I’m with 68Formula on the paint scheme, but then again I might be biased, mine even has the red pinstripe he mentions to break up the two-tone, might be my brother from another mother, my car was painted about 10 years ago.

I agree. But some people like the hidden perimeter bolts. Either way would look great IMHO

The wheels I posted aren't the exact ones I would run, close but just a pic found on a quick search. I dont like the fake bolt style.

It was the nicest day we've had at least on a weekend. So I took out the 10 bolt to make way for a 12 bolt. While I was there I tried this on to check fitment. 11 wide fit right on kinda close to the frame so I put on an adapter that was kicking around.

What size tires do you plan to run?

If I can afford it 335 or 345 ,18. That is just a blem 17x11. I found it super cheap to mess around with. If I cheap out 315 17 rears.

It's a polished ZR1 style wheel. 96 I believe. They come in several sizes and backspacing. I believe this one is 17x11 with 7.97 backspace. It fits on the car with the minitub but it's too close to the frame without an adapter.

I've been doing a bunch of boring stuff, cleaning up small parts and bolts and screws. Much sandblasting, soaking and re coating. Not really fun to look at. I did also start cleaning up a cheap 12 bolt rear. Even though I got it shipped from the south it was super pitted with terribly rusted spring perches. After I decided to order another better housing I got bored. Decided I would cut off the tubes from the 30,000 mile 10 bolt. After a little research the tube ends are the same. So some cutting, grinding, sandlasting, scrubbing then welding you can end up with this.

Even put on lower control arm relocation brackets and fully welded the tubes to the center with nickel wire.

A little semi gloss epoxy then let it dry over the weekend.

Almost a before and after.

What brand epoxy did ya use? I’m interested to see how durable VHT roll bar epoxy paint it. It goes on pretty smooth

Did you use any fixtures during mock up? Check how straight the housing is after welding? Tig or mig?

VHT brand. Good stuff. I had 3 housings here so I made a bolt on jig. Bolted to the cover area and both brake flanges. One of the 12 bolts had offset length tubes. It is centered like the other 2 were now.

Oh yeah, mig. 2 types of wire. The tig at work (where they are) is a small dual volt. Not so strong.
