Well, I would love to know. I think the dimension that's going to matter to me is from the crank to the transmission. I think the accessories on the top of the engine are a little farther out right?

If the yarn is standing straight out, or curling, it's a bad place.

Actually found someone tuft testing a tesla nose.

Interesting, thanx. Wouldn't yarn straight out indicate a good place for the vent due to low pressure?

I just thought of something. I don't think I need any of the accessories. Do you think that will that buy me any space?

Probably not in a way that will be helpful.

No, you'd want to vent where the yarn is laying flat. Take a look at Bernouli's principal with how velocity and flow can create vacuum pressure.

Sigh..... No I did not. I measured my car and it appears that I may not have enough room between the firewall and the core support. After that I kind of felt defeated and didn't mess with it. I might get to it this weekend though just so the transmission will be out of the way. I will let you know.

As for not having any front accessories, you will still at least need the water pump, so by removing the rest of them, you won't gain any room side to side.

Remote electric water pump and low profile fittings maybe?

Still have to have a balancer; even losing the H2O pump doesn't gain you anything meaningful.

One other issue I see with this swap that I don’t think has been talked about is what transmission are you going to use?

This would become a problem when the engine isn’t running.

If a manual you could just put it in neutral and be fine.

but if you are going with a automatic and running on electric only I can see a problem.

The pump in the transmission to keep it oiled up won’t pump when the engine isn’t running. I think most are rated around 30 miles before you have to flat tow or remove drive shaft/half shafts.

Concerning the accessories, the Tesla main batteries are a 480v+ system, so you’d need a starting battery. The Tesla’s do have a small 12v battery to run small ancillary accessories such as heater and other things, but the battery isn’t designed for, and can’t handle a starter motor. In doing this starter battery...which means finding more room?...you’ll have to run an alternator, in my opinion, which means accessories are back on the engine. Unless you wanted to try and run an alternator mounted off the bellhousing? I don’t know...I just see way more problems here than this will ever be worth trying to engineer. I do like a challenge, and you’ve got one here, basically trying to engineer the entire front half of an automobile from scratch. I’m pulling for you.

I just assumed a small transformer would be used to accommodate the engine's 12V needs.
