Default Gen 3 to gen4 conversion kit corvette c6

hi everyone.

I have a c6 corvette and plan to put a 5.3 engine in it. I know I need a gen 4 engine, but here where I live it is very difficult to find a gen 4 engine in good condition. I already have a gen3 with a few miles and am thinking about corverting it. I've been searching but I haven't found anything specific about this conversion. I saw this kit below and would like the help of the more experienced ones to tell me if it pays off.

This will be a low cost project. I'm a mechanic and I enjoy getting things done on my garage property, but I'm still learning a little bit about these LS engines and corvettes. Thank you for your help

Will not work. You need a crank with a 52 tooth reluctor vs the 24 tooth reluctor in the gen 3.
now if you can swap reluctors, then it will work in your C6.

I thought this kit already came with the reluctor wheel. I'm looking for a gen 4 engine to make my project easier, but it's pretty hard to find.

It looks like it has all BUT the reluctor wheel.
Where are you located? LKQ has junkyards all over the nation and ship free a lot of their stuff. Get online and use their search engine to find what you need.

Oh I know, doesn't sway my opinion. At least do an LQ4 lol

Edit: not lq4 cause Gen4 doh!

Yes, that kit is misleading, but like the others have said, you need a 58x crank not a 24x, plus you need a 4x cam sensor, not 1x like the in that kit. If you are comfortable doing it, you can take it to a machine shop and have them swap reflector rings then use that conversion kit, but add a 4x cam gear.

I'm on cape cod. I'm going to look at LKQ now, I've seen that the transformation of this engine I have is going to be very complicated. I want to avoid headaches

I noticed that. I will discard this conversion. I'm looking for a gen 4 again, it will be much easier and faster. Thank you for your help

guys, i finally managed to buy the ly6 6.0 engine. now i have a doubt, my corvette has all the electric of a z06 2007 corvette, ecm e38. does the ly6 engine have vvt, will i have to modify it to work? or will this not be a problem? I searched a lot about it here on the forum but I didn't find anything.

LY6 has VVT variable valve timing but no DOD displacement on demand. Im using an LY6 for my swap.
You can swap timing covers and timing gear to get rid of VVT. New timing set is a good idea while youre there. And oh yeah, perfect time for a new cam.
summit has a vvt delete kit with all the parts you need.
read thru this, explains if you keep your cam or swap, gen 4 has a 1 bolt cam, gen 3 has 3 bolt cam, pretty common to use a 3 bolt cam in a gen 4 when swapping, just need to plan ahead and get the right timing gear.

Mavn did a ls3 (150k miles) Summit stg 1 and had great results. Maybe worth investigation. I have a 08 LY6 w/L76 intake and 90 TB sand tthe same Summot Stg 1 cam but won’t have it running this year.

Probably so if you can't drive a car with 1000+WHP.

Why not go standalone? If you plan on boosting it you will be ahead of the game by the time you fiddle with converting the reluctor, getting a wideband, messing with HPtuners, etc...
