Anybody driven one? Its 4x4 specific , so you'd need a adapter of sorts for the tail shaft for 2wd.. But its got some impressive stats..

I have a 4x4 but haven't been able to chat with anybody with one of these new units..
Like to know how they shift,, looking for one that shifts less notchy than most of the 4x4 capable transmissions..
LS swaps create a kind of transmission gap in 4x4's most cant quite measure up to the torque..

I don't know anything about this specific transmission, but isn't there an outfit, possibly several, that convert Corvette T56's to AWD/4WD?

I could swear there was an AWD Tacoma on here with a T56...

6.16 or 5.81 1st, 3.11 or 2.94 2nd with 1:1 4th and .76 5th. Fine for a BIG HEAVY truck, but you’ve just got a wide ratio 4 speed with a useless 1st gear in any car.

yep its less of a problem running 35" tall tires.. LOL The T5's never held up in jeeps, they came with them factory, behind a 304V8,
folks tried the new gear kits, hybrid setups, the case just isn't up to the torque they get off-road once you warmed up the old AMC engine..
Even the straight 6 lump could break them. (This is the early T5 btw, they quit making the 4x4 version before they figured out how to toughen them up.)

I’m running tr4050 with my GMC 97 k2500, caddy fly wheel 8 bolts with the 6.2L denali’s engine. Smooth shifting however, if you are running 10.5 14 bolt I recommend you go less than 4.10 high ratio gears this is what i feel after a while of driving probably I’m going to lower the ratio 3.42 or 3.73 will be better than 4.10. Tr4050 high close ratios between the gears it feels more aggressive than NV4500, and much stronger.
Rsgears they make tr6060 4x4 I believe it will be better for a daily driving with lighter trucks faster in mid/high speed.

note: TR4050 mostly runs with 10 spline clutch I believe they do with 26 spline as well I’m talking about gm trucks.

Z-71 ..... I am looking to do a tr4050 swap into my 1989 K1500. But there is no information other there on fitting up to the stock transfercase. Wish someone had a parts list needed to do a swap. I am swapping over from a 700r4. I have a new 383 chevy in it. I keep thinking that I can not be the only one who wants the 4050 trans in a obs.

Any help would be appreciated.

Dont waste your time it wont last. A tr6060 is rated to 700ftlbs and will handle the stress of the 4x4. Best part is that it will bolt to almost any ​​​​​​ 27-Spline 5-Bolt Chevy Transfer Case.
