Default Swap vs procharger

So I'm in a debate. I have a 2000 single cab silverado with a 5.3. I'm debating if I should procharge the truck or do a swap. I'm looking at about 10 grand to procharge it but I was debating if I should just putting a newer motor out of maybe around a 2015 camaro or corvette. It's a gen 3 5.3, gen 4 piston and rod. 243 heads port polished and milled. Dual springs and trunion upgrade. 102 mm intake and throttle body on e85. Also on nitrous but I'm tired of filling bottles already and wanting to go a different route. NA it's close to 400hp rw

For that much power on the street, forced induction is the way to go.
That way you can cam it milder and still have great power when needed.... or wanted.... LOL

yeh that's what I was debating, I already have a btr stage 3 truck cam in the truck. I wanted to go turbo but my tuner swear by the procharger. He tells me that the way I want to go considering I drive the truck and am looking for reliability along with the power. I have an aeromotive 340 pump and 36 pound injectors. Hes telling me add a second pump and get 50 pound injectors and a procharger and I'll good to go. Which procharger model would I need to get the power level I'm looking for.

have you looked at the torque storm superchargers? There a little cheaper but I think you might be maxed out around 550-600 rwhp with one of those

honestly I haven't looked at any different ones. I will take a look at them though. I'd be ok if I could get 600 out of it

Talk to Bob @ brutespeed about his kit with new procharger bracket, it’ll be alot cheaper than $10,000. A d1x will do 650 on a 5.3 but you’ll have to be on e85 and 10-12lbs maybe more lbs. if you’re engine is healthy and has no issues id lean towards the blower over engine swap because you dont have to touch any wiring and its gonna be 10% of the work vs swapping. I can install my procharger & bracket in under an hour and the intercooler kit takes about another hour because its a2w and has alot of connections.

I've never heard of him but I'll definitely do that and my motor is actually very strong and it doesn't have any issues. 10 thousand was for procharger, injectors, the second fuel pump and the tune. My truck is already on e85. E85 is very easy to get around my house. My motor pulls pretty strong for what it is. I'm just not really enjoying the nitrous to much. Always filling bottles and I've had a few leaks in the past that have waisted a few bottles n then having to let the bottle warm. I'd just much rather have something that's always there.

Also I have 243 heads on the truck. Does that make a difference on what procharger I need to get?

Nope. Id run your setup by Bob and see what he recommends. I like the d1x because they offer the helical gears which make it alot quieter and better to daily. I personally recirculate my dual bov’s back into the intake and that eliminates the constant surge of air you get at part throttle cruising. I just vent to atmosphere if im gonna race it and dont care about noise and it helps lower Ait’s

my biggest complaint about the procharger is the part throttle noise, its just dumping air at 2,500 on the highway it’s obnoxious.

hell yeh that sounds like the way to go, I'll definitely give him a call tomorrow and see what he recommends and my truck is already pretty loud so I'm sure a little extra noise wouldn't be noticed much. Long tube headers, 3 inch piping into cut off with magnaflow out of it with turn downs. It's not to bad when it's closed but when I open it, it is obnoxiously loud lol.
