It sounds great, has good manners (with some careful tuning) and makes great power.

I will definitely check it out!

Not surprising actually as people interested in Corvairs tend to be in the late 60s or even 70s.

When selecting a cam, honestly evaluate if your intake and exhaust systems have restricted, average or well above average flow. If either is restricted and you over-cam the setup, you won't gain any power over a more modest cam, only have worse drivability
IMHO, even a very modest cam in your 6.0 LS engine is going to give you STUPID power levels in a Corvair. .

I’m still kinda on the fence about intakes. I like the FAST LXSR but it may be too much. Would an LS6 Intake be a better choice?

I know that long tube headers make more low end power but my experience is that they hang too low. I’ve smashed a few headers in my time. I tend to have better luck with shortys or mid-length headers so I can tuck the exhaust up as high as possible.

Me at 16 with the first car I hot-rodded. Bought it when I was 14 for $150. New paint, engine, wheels, tires, interior. I was hooked!

Yep. You’re correct. I meant high end power.

The LS6 intake has been ordered. It’s been difficult to find one at a reasonable price. Apparently the Dorman replacement has been discontinued as well as the GM. I found an OEM used one at Dino’s Corvette Salvage for $339 shipped to the house!

I will most likely buy the BTR Truck Norris camshaft as recommended by several members of this group unless I find a different option.

That's a good price. Saw one local here for $250 a week ago. Those things have steadily increased over the years because of what they are.

Long tube headers add low end torque and I would stay away from the FAST intake.

The Summit 8728R1 has very similar specs to the TN cam with more lift. Could be an option for you.

That Summit cam has (Negative) -5 degrees of overlap, versus the (positive) 4 degrees of overlap of the TN cam (assuming their "212/22x" is actually 212/225). Even with the higher lift this Summit cam will be "milder". That's not necessarily a bad thing as it will have excellent low end torque, be easier to tune, have a quiet idle and get better gas mileage. However I think the OP wants a more aggressive sounding cam.

Im still on the fence about the cam. There seems to be hundreds more choices for the ls than there was for SBC’s. I guess I may be having a difficult time deciding.
