Need some schooling on MAF sensors
Can I simply source a different MAF sensor that fits the tube and has the same pinout to get it working? Is this something that can be "re-calibrated" when I have my tuning done??
Thanks much !!!!
TM
Funny thing is the throttle body is 100mm, but the ductwork reduces to 3"
With a blade-style MAF, any time the tube diameter changes, you need to re-tune the MAF values.
IMHO, this is better than trying to fit an integrated-style MAF+Tube into your custom setup.
I had to deal with this on a swap I'm working on.
This is an example of why this forum is great - one person makes a suggestion but overlooks a detail; someone else then fills in that detail.
I put one of these in generic amazon Silverado cold air kit and it worked perfectly. If you are running a stock engine and stock PCM it will be plug and play no tuning.
Delphi AF10043 Mass Air Flow Sensor.

So 2 questions
1. Can someone confirm the pinout for the AF10043 to confirm my wiring is correct?
Pin A - MAF Signal
Pin B - Power
Pin C - Ground
Pin D - AIT Signal
Pin E - AIT Power
2. Is this something that tuning will/can correct - can you program a different sensor??
Thanks much!!!
Cheers TM
As long as the wiring matches the PCM it can be. The curve just needs to be correct or corrected for the combination.
I am now running an LS3 card style MAF in the truck above and when I switched connectors I not only had the wiring order backwards but totally mixed up.
I knew it was wrong when it would just start and die. (maf only tune at the time).
Once I corrected the wiring I was able to get the MAF tune correct.
