6.0 conversion in 95 Caprice,,=UNDER WAY!!
Removing the current Slooooooooooow 4.3 liter V8 as we speak, should be out today! Will have to do some minor frame mods but shoud be a fun conversion. Will be putting in cam,ls6 manifold, headers... Cant wait to get it done,, This conversion has been done on several other Impala's / Caprices before so it will not be the first but will be fun anyway. Roger

Any websites you know of where someone else has done this? Parts suppliers?
Thanks in advance for your answers,
Phil

Yahh I know I should just bought LS1 from a Fbody
The Caprice is not a 9c1 optioned car, its also a Non Lt1 car.
The crossmember will need to be notched and I am planning on using the stock mounts but use the adapters that S&P Sells. Will be trial fitting hopefully this in the next two weeks. Will update when I get to that point with pictures.
The Fbody headers are supposed to be very nice fit with minor adjustments on the tubes. I bought the Pacesetter long tubes and I will post as I get them trial fit for clearance.
Websites,Shiggins Impala SS = LS1 , Here is one with Tons of Photos and is what I used as a reference. The car is a 6sp car and I will be going with 4l60. Nice guy and a nice car, though I have not met him he did answer some questions as I was putting my plans together. hope it helps... Roger

What rear end are you planning on running? Any et/mph goals with the car?
Ya know I am not sure on the ET goals. My guess is that I should pick up at least 5 seconds. Now I know that seems like a lot but with previous motor it ran a blazing 18.0 (lol) The previous motor was a (L99 4.3 liter). If I get anywhere near that I will be satisfied. The Rear end was swapped to 8.5 SS Impala rear end and will end up with 3.73's. Have also purhased a new posi for the rear end.
Engine looks clean and the car has a killer paint job on it!

Very clean looking car, make sure you do some suspension work as well
Looks like you already got it lowered though.
Then all it has to do is start and run!!.
.. LOL,, "Suspension" should be OK actually upgraded it some time ago.
Impala SS forum you will find that there is not much information regarding LS1 swaps. Most folks are staying with the LT1's and upgrading them.
Been a fun project so far!! Roger
Killer conversion btw.

(JK),, Had it posted for sell on our local forum for 300.00 = local pickup, but still sitting currently in storage shed.., Roger Last edited by tooblue; Sep 12, 2005 at 02:52 PM.
