Check out the conversions and hybrids forum.....nothin is impossible. It shouldn't be that bad if you got the computer and wiring harness.

Check out the "Conversions & Hybrids" section. www.thirdgen.org is also another good place for info.

From what I understand, swapping an LS6 in is going to be nearly the same as swapping in an LS1. The only differences I am aware of are that the accessories are placed a bit differently (which may help in regards to the AC compressor/k-member clearance issue), and the Vettes use an electronic throttle control versus the cable control on an f-body.

If/when you get it done, please send me a PM or email. I am currently collecting information for a public database on all 3rd gen LS1/6/2/ swaps.

This is pretty much a basic LS1 swap, but the Vette pieces introduce some variations.

The Vette oil pan is pretty much a no-fit, you'll want an F-body pan and oil pump pickup to go along w/ it.

The Vette transaxle would be a real nightmare to fit to the IROC. Easier to get an F-body transmission.

The Vette accessories are actually a better arrangement for your car w/ the alternator mounted up higher. AC compressor is in the same location so you still have the crossmember fitment problem...if you're planning on having AC.

The rest of it is the usual wiring, engine mounts, fuel system, gauges, etc. we've all dealt with.

Good info, he is right you will need to work on the crossmember if you want AC. We did the swap in a 91 RS about 2 years ago, also converted to to T56, it wasnt to bad, you will not be dissapointed

I plunked down 4,500.00 for all the usable parts plus the engine& tranny out of a '99 T/A . I still had another 3,000.00 to spend on the project. Oh , how little I knew what I was getting into back then........

umm, I'm no expert, but a 3rd gen V6 transmission WONT work with an LS6 without BIG modifications. Dont waste your money on the V6 tranny kid, find a 6 speed.
