how fast can a stock ls1 run with a carb in this light beast?
should be fun with a shot of juice.

(BTW, carbs suck)
My best friends father has a back-half RCSB s-10 with a mild 327 in it that runs 11.10's. That S-10 in the pics is nice and should go fairly well.

How much does something like that run to have done?
I'll guess low/mid 11's depending on the rest of the setup and total weight. What trans/stall/weight/etc?

truck is prolly gonna be around sub 2600.
its got a tko600 and a 8.5 rear.
the rear is already light. everything has been removed that dont need to be there, and the suspension is a ladder bar setup.
there may be a point to where you can tune the efi for better drivability.... but when it comes down to power and track times, there isnt going to be that much of a difference in the two.

That would be an interesting study for someone.. take 3 engines, Chrysler, Ford, Checy. Leave the bottom end alone, and just swap FI and Carb. Tune each one to the best possible and see what makes better power.
Yee haw.
carbs make power, and when converting, its much cleaner and cheaper with a carb. not something id want to put on my new vette or a newer z28, but its ok in my opinion.
maybe in a month, ill have a stock ls1 carbed dyno graph to post up to prove you wrong.

I am working on building a 5.3L truck cast iron block with a similar setup that will go into my 69 El Camino. An opportunity to rev the engine at 6600 rpms with decent hp/torque is an inspiration.
Regards!
