well if look around here so far there is no one making a conversion longtube as of yet...however bruce hawkins from hawksthirdgenparts.com is apparently going to be coming out with a conversion long tube later this spring, but who knows. There are other options to go down though such as taking a third gen long tube header and reworking it to fit an ls1 flange, if you have the tools and skills to do this. Or you can go with a custom set...however this might be a bit expensive.

I tried the custom route built route but here's the response I got: "Bring your car to us , we'll need it for at least a month and we can build your headers".Now in itself , that's not a unreasonable response , but by the time you figure shipping the car, getting the headers built(I want stainless ones) then flying to pick the car after completion , it's not really too cost effective. The cheapest way out right now is to buy Hooker #2210 headers , buying LS1 flanges , cutting and welding the headers to get the LS1 flanges to fit. What really kills me is nobody has built these headers and marketed them. How many thirdgen swaps in just this forum alone do you see?Several other sites have as many or more threads and it's obviously a very popular swap. Header manufacturers , you could be making a killing right now being the only one to offer these headers , yet all of you continue to ignore this goldmine. Why?

That's why Bruce sent a whole car (lowered and with stock k-member) out to be fitted with custom-headers. The resulting product will then be produced for sale on his website. I think he, and some other 3rd gen specialty guys, were kinda waiting for one of the "big" companies to do it, but nobody seemed to want to step up and give us a product for our "lowly" 3rd gens, lol. Since nobody else was apparently going to, Bruce decided to solve the problem and get some made up. The last time I spoke to him, he expected that we should see them hopefully around the end of May or so.

i know a guy in florida making them on a case by case basis..... basicly hes taking 3rdgen hooker longtubes, and doing a GREAT job of cutting back the primary tubes (almost all the way on some of them) and redoing them to properly mate with the LS1..

cost of the headers plus a couple hund for his work.... worth it IMO though.. fit better then the stock hooker longtubes with the SBC...... more ground clearance too.

bifster read this thread and the thread that i post there:
bifster
https://ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-swaps/283661-might-doing-ls1-thirdgen-conversion-any-tips-warnings.html

nice that some people finally come back into "church" and follow my thoughts!!!!!
Its time we the LS1 swapper crowd get a place on ls1 or third gen as a own spot!this thread jumped from 550 views to kinda 700 views after i post a STRAIGHT TALKER MESSAGE AGAIN!
You´ll see that the K-member topic (suspension stuff) is already a big ...g mess !
Poor quality and fitment issues and other bla bla-----

I hope the headers that are coming up are better designed!!!!!!!!

greets to the LS1 swapper mafia: Mr.Dude, badjuju342,89FormulaLS2,
92CamaroReallySlow....and all others!

Idea is to set up a ls1 Hard talk day where we push the topic in a special Thread in this hybrid section to a limit!

Saturday evening???spread the news and lets see how many people join in!

YsoFast cant find this famous hooker /Ls1 flange pic on my HD...... BS!

The pic was hostet on third gen....

A single weld up kit will do....see the pic!
I checked a Ls1 tech sponsor on header weld up parts and i couldnt believe how "Cheap" the single parts are in the USA!
the sec pic is a us based race shop doing art work...(not a sponsor)
A buddy from those folks is on ls1tech!
The header design is done on a computer ...like a cad drawing /vid for building a "fiction" house to then show it to a costumer ...!
They only need the GM 3rd gen fbody engine compartment data...!

The GM part number for the LS1 Flange is :12480130 and they are OUR PRICE: $14.49 for 1 Flange!!!!!
the cheapest LS1 part hahahahaha!

Mr. Dude or anyone else! this would be a starting point for those you dont want to butcher a Hooker header

would like to piece down all parts for a : LS1 LongTube 1 3/4 Header?

2x Flanges 30,00 $
2x Collector 260,00 $ ??????????
?x Bends

Mild steal GM Flange and stainless tubes/collectors?
Or get a GM Flange and let a shop laser cut a flange?
