Default ditch the electronic throttle?

I have an electronic throttle body that came on my 6.0 swap motor. Is it pretty easy just to swap it out with a manual one? Any changes on the intake?

Did you get the gas pedal and throttle control module with the motor? What year is the motor? I think some trucks had them and some didn't, it depends on whether it has the traction control option. My 2001 Silverado 5.3 has the electric throttle and has the traction control, while other trucks I have seen have the cable throttle.

I want to run the electronic throttle on my swap. I have the pedal and the throttle body, but need the control module. It is my understanding that they are grouped by year, '03 and earlier and '04 and later. If you have a pre '03 set up with a control module I will swap my cable control throttle body from a 2000 LS1 for it. Send me a PM if you are interested.

Pat

I sent you an email about this, but for the record the ETC throttle body has a different TPS and connector, and lacks the IAC valve. I belive you will need to add the IAC and TPS connectors in your engine harness and you will certainly need the PCM reflashed if you want to go from ETC to cable.

Yes, it's different. The ETC setup doesn't have wiring for the TPS and IAC to the PCM. It can be added if necessary, or you could stay with the ETC. It really is a neat setup. Some like it, some don't. There is some added costs if you don't have all of the parts (pedal, TAC module, pedal to module harness).

Now that I think about it, it would probably be more work to replace the throttle body, hack up the harness, add sensors, reprogram the PCM and all of that. I'm reconsidering sticking with it.

If you have all the parts, that would be my suggestion.

I just bought a pedal assembly from an 03 escalade on ebay. Take a look at the pictures and if you could tell me if this is all I need it would be apriciated.

I've got a 99 vette ETC throttle body but no pedal or module. I'm going to swap to an F-Body cable TB. I already have enough wiring to contend with. ETC would be slick though. Would it be possible to convert an ETC TB to Manual? I'll have to look at it myself.

That's an ETC pedal but it looks like some kind of compound linkage, unless I'm looking at it wrong.

Here's a Vette pedal and a normal truck pedal side by side.

It looks like yours is an assembly that can't be separated, but I'm not sure.

What year is that pedal from? The guys at Street and Performance told me to use the pedal from a 2003 Escalade. Will the one I have work? And will the wiring included plug into the engine wiring harness or will I have to splice it into the body connectors?

That's the 01-05 truck ETC pedal.

If you can mount that conglomeration I guess it should work.

Hmmm, where did I go wrong. Maybe I can at least use some of the wiring. What's the part number for that 01-05 pedal?

I think I've found one that will work better. Will the harness I got from the last setup work for this one also?

Yes. Since they are both truck applications the wiring should be the same.

Yes, I'm running the electronic throttle on the 91, and using the Corvette pedal.
