Ok well here is what a little mouse told me, there is a car at Stainless Works that F-body motorsports left there to have some stainless long tubes made, they have had the car for about 2 months now, the word is that any day the headers will be ready. Should only be a few more weeks before they are ready to sell.

I figure if Fbodymotorsports sells them they will be similarly priced, and they are in the same region as Hawks so I dont think it would make a big difference price wise, but nice to know more than one company might offer them.

ive seen plenty of posts not to buy ANYTHING from f body motorsports. im not trying to start a war here, but if you look on www.thirdgen.org there are PLENTY of bad things said about them.

ill be at the f body gathering this year in atlanta. if anyone should have headers, i will see them up front and pay cash for them.
more than once f body motorsports took an order, charged a credit card, and the customer either waited forever for the product, or it never showed up.

this is not my personal experience, just what ive read on the internet from past experiences.

Yea i've never had anything good to say about fbodymotorsports, everytime i ordered somthing from there it would take a good month or two longer then they said. I would never buy anything from them, but it is nice to see some other companys making some products for the thirdgen/ls1.

I talked to Neil at Hawks today and I'm #6 on the initial order of 10 sets. I can't wait!!! I only got the headers... I'm going to be getting a custom off road y-pipe made to use my dual electric cutouts on. This is the dual exhaust T56 x-member I'm gonna use. A guy on TG.O makes them!

GTA91,
The crossmember is for a LT1 T-56 so be sure you are running the right tranny to work with it because the LS1 and LT1 setup has different mount points. I already talked to that guy about making a setup for the LS1 tranny but didnt get to far.

I had gotten the old x-member with the torque arm from spohn.. heres what he wrote me when i asked him about the differences between the lt1 t56s and ls1s

The only difference is the front rotator mount, we weld a stud in it
instead of using a bolt because the bolt head will rub against the
LS1 T-56. Everything else is the same.

Steve

I would say the mounting points are the same, or they better be.. input shafts however are not

I would go with the headers but 1600$ of my colored money to get them shipped up here..

What! The mounting points of the T-56s are not even close. Have you seen them?

how are they not close.. how far do you think they are out?

the pics i've compared to my 99 one, the case looks exactly the same with the mounting point in the same position.. the shifter on the 93-97s is more forward tho towards the engine

i guess steve spohn could be lyin to me.. i will find out soon enough.. maybe its something to do with the ls1 engine mounts and where it positions the tranny

the "LS1" T56 swap crossmember hawks sells is identical to the LT1 one. they're the same part.

bruce himself told me "you might have to notch the holes back a little, but its not bad"

i did so, and it fit right up....

I am a little confused. Where his y-pipe is made to exit it seems as if it is made to hook up to a 4th gen cat back or just custom made exhaust because dont third gen cat-backs hook up to the cat/ory right under the passenger side door instead of right along the driveshaft?
