FINALY LS1 3rd GEN HEADERS!!!
Went to hawksthirdgenparts.com today to just look around and what do i see, taking preorders for ls1 3rd gen headers and y-pipes. Called them and said they are fitted on a stock k-member with a spohn tq arm mounted x-member w/driveshaft loop, and with the car lowered with sportlines. Said they are taking orders now and should be ready to ship in 5 weeks. The headers are being made by stainlesss steel works(sponser here) but are going to be sold only by hawks. So excited right nwo def. ordering these babies. just wanted to let all my fellow 3rd gens know this.

700 for the headers or 1000 for the headers and y-pipe which is on par with qtp and kooks. They are stainless steel so it would be expected to be that high even i would like them to be a little lower but all well.

Everytime I buy a part, somethin else comes along that always 100 times better for a couple hundred more bucks. Spring pearch A-arms with eibach springs vs. coil over a-arms with coil over conversion coil over kit and stock rear springs...another 75 bucks, saved weight, much easier install, better performance. Now coated hookers welded to ls1 flange and custom y-pipe vs. stainless conversion specific headers with y-pipe...extra 200 bucks, most likely better clearance, and stainless not coated. Will somebody just shoot me.

I waited until I knew for certain these weren't gonna come out before buying the Hookers to chop up. I'm glad I did. I really wanted stainless and with the complete system , now all I have to worry about is the catback. That's not too difficult.

Well I was considering waiting, however I figured they would be much more money, not stainless, and not comin with a y-pipe. I am kind of on a time crunch seeing as I want my car done within the next 3 or 4 weeks, and I am assuming it will take a little while to get the headers made and shipped out, but I dont know. I will be intersted to see what it will cost to make a custom y-pipe, because if it is anywhere near 4-500 dollars (which I dont think it will be) I will be very upset at myself. O well, Id like to hear how the install on these goes.

They said they'll begin shipping in about 6 weeks. These things are gonna sell like crazy so better get your order in pretty quick. Being that I'm on a spending spree , I ordered a LS6 ported oil pump from Texas Speed and Performance , too.
