Default Fuel Question for LS1 in 94 S10

My conversion is almost done.....

My plan on the fuel is to use the orignal fuel tank sending unit and replace the pump with a walbro 255 and use a corvette fuel filter/regulater. Is this possible or do I need to go a different route. I would like to keep the pump in the tank. Do I have to have a corvette fuel rail with my setup or will the f-body work? I have pics of the sending unit if needed. Thanks for any help that can be offered!!

You can go either way of the two ways you mentioned.

You can use the F-body fuel rail and add the Corvette filter/regulator, or you can add the 97-98 Corvette fuel rail to the engine and skip the filter/regulator.

Either method creates the needed return line for your system. The filter/reg. is the cheaper route.

Another ques? Can someone give me the plus and minuses of using steel braided fuel line or hard steel line? And where to get some of either product from. Thanks

Also what are the fuel requirements for a LS1 (LPH, PSI. … ) I looked at the vette filter/regulator and I think it is reg. at 45 PSI. I have read on hear that an ls1 needs 58 PSI. If engine mods that require more fuel come along (which they will sooner or later) I will have to change out the whole set-up then. Just look-in for input. Thanks

GM spec for a Corvette is 55-61 PSI with that filter/regulator

Be careful with the braided stainless stuff. I used the high-dollar Earl's braided on my Cutlass from front to back and wound up pulling it back off.
I park in an enclosed garage, and the fumes that came through the hose were killer. It took me a while to figure out it was fumes permeating the hose, I kept hunting for leaks, pressure checking hoses and fittings, etc.
It was the hose itself. Replaced it all with steel and high pressure rubber hose and no more smell. The teflon lined braided might be OK, but it is even more expensive.

What I did was I used steel up to a point and where the line needed to flex I used the stainless braided. The braided is fine, but like he said it does give off a fuel vapor smell. You use alot of it and it is real bad, just a few feet and you should be ok.
