LS1 in a 5.0 fox body?
All,
I have a 89 5.0 and am thinking about puting a LS1 in it. Is that possible? Has anyone done that? I know there are several people who have put our mighty engine in other applications but I Have never heard of anyone putting one in a 5.0.
Don't know if it is a pride thing but I love all American cars. You we all know that the 5.0 was the top dog Shizzy back in the day! The IROC was up there too though!!
What's you're .02?

i'm doing a sbc swap right now into a '90 notchback, and my thougts are if you plan to make some good power, or not, is to get a k-member without mounts and use front and mid plates to hold it in there. looks better too imo, racey. but as said already, use the search feature because others have done it, or at least started on it and you may find some useful info.

Hey I'm sorry that I just had to have a 5.0. It's what almost everyone wanted when I was growing up. No one could beat them. Any way. When upgrading, you should pick the best right? Who wants a sorry as 4.6 when you can get the best thing God created? Although a DOHC is good ****, only if Ford could produce 351 from the gate! They should have never stopped making the 5.0. A 5.0 DOHC in that light body would hand a stock F bod its' ***. Just my 0.2 for what it's worth. Not much prob.!!!!
My 2000 TA was my dream car so I had to get it too. I know alot of folks here prob. have both a 5.0 and a Fourth gen F body. Any true muscle car lover would.
Tell me if I'm wrong.

BTW, motor plates make the swap a lot easier...or so I've read.
Yep, and I've yet to see a Stang with a 10 bolts or a 12 bolts. On the other hand, there's a ton of f-bodies running Ford 9"

what are you using for headers?
i was looking at conversion headers for swapping 351's and 460's into fox bodies from D&D ( http://www.mspmall.com/ddautospec/foxbody.html ) and i noticed that some of the headers had the primaries evenly spaced. does anyone know what ford heads have that configuration , cause you can buy those headers, chop the flange off and weld an ls1 style flange on there for alot cheaper than having a custon set made.
