Default Is there a smaller power steering pulley for truck acc.?

I think I can get away with using the truck accessory bracket in my S10 swap, but the pulley is awful close to the steering box. Has anyone used a smaller pulley? I imagine that there are some out there, but didn't know. I have a friend with a junkyard, so I'll probably go there and see if I can find any, but didn't know if someone else might have tried a similar idea.
Thanks,
Todd

I have a f body pump and just switched it with a pump from another GM car that had the same casting. it had a small pully. I didn't look at it close to see if the ribs were the same but I can tell you the f body pully fit the new pump just fine. I dont have the other pully. hope you find one.

I figure I'll have to just look around to find something similar. There is probably something FWD that uses the same size shaft, but a smaller pulley. If I find out what it is, I'll post it.

If you find one please post what it's from. I need one that is 3/4 to 7/8" smaller. I'll let you know if I find one.

I looked at the GTO ps pump and pulley and that may work. I'll get measurements in the morning.

Cool. I never thought about the GTO. I wonder what the accessory bracket looks like on those?

It is pretty common for offroad cars using the LS1 and the power steering pump to fit a smaller pulley in an attempt to get more flow for big power steering rams. Generally, the ones I see are from Howe Performance

http://www.howeperformance.com/offroad.html

I believe the Howe pulley I have is an inch or inch and a half smaller than a stock LS1 pulley, but call them and talk to Jeff and he'll help you out.

McKenzies Offroad also stocks the Howe Pulley

Hope this helps

I haven't found anything yet. I called Howe today, but they said the pulley wouldn't line up using the factory brackets. I also got a power steering pump from a 3100, but it's not going to work either. The offset was all wrong. The diameter of the pulley would have worked, but the shaft was also smaller too. I'm still looking.

My truck power steering pump is also .750 . I could probably use on that is smaller, and have a friend punch it out to .750 .

Found a pulley, but it's not quite right. It has one more rib on it. I am thinking about welding up the last rib and having a friend turn it down on his lathe, but I haven't done it yet. The size is perfect. It is off of a 90s Dodge Dakota with a 3.9. I think the full size 318 power steering pump pulley is the same too.

The PS pump from a 2002+ Trailblazer / Envoy with the 5.3 has a smaller diameter pulley and the pump will bolt directly to the brackets you have. The pump will need to be used with a remote resevoir.

I bet the pulley from the trailblazer has the same diameter shaft too? I'll have to do some checking into that. Does anyone have the part number for that pulley?
