JOHN,

Look in the "FINAL ASSEMBLY" section. I used the stock TH 350 crossmember, cut the mounting ear off the back, drilled a hole in the center and welded it onto the front. It bolts into the stock subframe holes, uses the T56 stock rubber mount with a small mod, I slotted the rubber mounting holes so it just slides into place. It even locates the motor for perfect clearance all around!

Lets see, I can type or work on the car.

See ya, TOM

I got a 91 c-1500 with 98 LS1 with all emmisions del. with TNT f2 coming soon, looking to add ZR1 17x11 and 17x9.5 if I can find the adapters that will work, if any, and an 87 z-28(real pain in the azz) will not hook up at all. Might have ben easier to put in the 502 ram jet. Each of these swaps was over 5K each. Ls1 edit is next.

I installed a new GM LS1 crate motor in my 73 240Z. Car weights 2600 with driver. You can see pictures at www.hybridz.org. Look in the members rides section. Yes F-body and C-5's have to be careful here in Dallas.

I have a 96 Sonoma EXT cab with a LS1. I only been at the track one time. It has no traction with the N50 indy ss tires. It get 23 miles to the gallon on the hwy and 16 in the city . it is fun to drive. The motor is completely stock
With a 6 speed. I did the install myself and it cost a lot to do.

I'm the most unique so far!!!
Tossing the LS1 engine controls/efi onto a '79 400M ford engine. Why? I should be able to graft it onto the engine for under $1500.

I am just underway on a hybrid project. Im putting a mildly built LS1 into my 1981 Z28. I will be mating it up to a th400 with a 3200 converter. I plan to use forged internals and a big shot of juice!

How about my LS1 turbo being installed into a 1980 Triumph TR7 soft top (2000lbs). Early days but it's under way and the dummy engine plus T56 fit nicely. Manifolds will be cast soon. Mike

7 year old post or not! 1972 Bu with a 6.0/4L80 here. My buddy Jim, (CamaroLS1), has a 2nd gen Z with a 6.0/400. Both cars will be running BW TT's this year! His is running a couple of 366's on the corn and mine is running a couple of 256's. Hope to have mine running in the next few weeks and his is just a little farther out.
