The Getrag five speed can take a lot of torque. I did a built, L98 in my '88 and ran 11.xx's @ 120 plus.

It's using the Archie kit. For the tranny, I'm cryo-treating a tranny from a '93 cavalier. It has larger spider gears than the Fiero getrag, but the same externally.
I looked at the FWD V8 setup for my project car. 4.6/4.0l N*'s have no aftermarket support and torque through an open diff. is not fun when one wheel hydro planes. So I decided to switch drive to the link below.
