Just finished an LS1 conversion on a 1977 full size Blazer. Here's some things I ran into doing the swap that might help someone trying the same.

1) 1977 full size 2wd Blazer

2) 700R4 auto trans

This was a 2wd 350ci Blazer that I had already previously converted from a TH-350 to a 700R4. I used Trans-Dapt conversion mounts and the factory cup style mounts. The only thing I ran into was that the conversion mounts moved the motor mounts forward interfering with the factory A/C compressor mounting location. I had to move the trans forward, but the frame already had holes that matched up, so I didn't have to drill any new ones. I had to lengthen the driveshaft about 1".
I used a custom oilpan that fits 1st gen Camaros and Chevelles, but with all the clearance I have, I wouldn't doubt if the factory one would've fit.
For headers I used Hookers new Supercomps for 1999+ chevy trucks part #2851HKR. I had to cut the air tube off and weld it up, and I notched the top of the framerails about 1/2" bye 2" on each side. Also cut about an inch of the ear off the trans on the drivers side but other than that the headers fit GREAT!
Should be getting exhaust on it this weekend and tuned Monday. I will try and get some pics up soon.

Is that a conversion kit for the RX7? If so, who sells it?

Car should be cool when it's done.

Default LS1 in a 95 buick roadmaster wagon

I want to drop an LS7 in a 95 buick roadmaster wagon, if this cant work I will drop an LS6 or LS1, I don't know what type of tranny to use or if this conversion is even possible, I do want to have a six speed though.

Default Swap is done, 27Jun07

We swapped an 02 F-body LS1/T56 into the wifes 67 Camaro. It is an RS/SS clone, so we don't feel bad about cutting it up. We have a fairly long thread in the conversion section on what we did and how. We are new to the Fuel Injected motor, so be patient with our questions. We have removed F.I. and gone to carb on many projects, never actually went the other way! It was not as hard as we thought it would be, and we will definatly do it again. The power and manners of the LS1 are incredible. Started 27MAR07, finished 27Jun07. Not bad for a couple of hobbyists that had no clue what they were doing....

And it not only has power, but it gets 26.6mpg!!!!!!!!!!!!

Default WS6 LS1 in my 40 Merc Coupe

New here,
After a few enjoyable years with a late 70's chevy 350 340hp (L 82 cam, 1.6 rockers, single eyebrow hypereutectic pistons, balanced, polished & ported heads, drag pipes and many other goodies), in my streetrod 40 Mercury Coupe, I decided to upgrade. I still like the old reliable 350 but the fuel mileage was eating me alive. So now I am trying to squeeze an LS1 and 4L60E into space for a flathead. The firewall is being recessed 3 inches and the frame widened to accommodate the headers, radiator and accessories. I was fortunate to find an original frame in great shape which I'll use instead of rebuilding the already modified Monte Carlo sub-frame. Using a TCI Mustang II IFS and a Dana 36 IRS rear end w/positrac. The car is all metal and in great condition but I am tearing it down completely just one more time...
Also putting a 430 hp Gen II LT1 in a 1951 Chevy stepside p/u and a small LT1 (a '94 4.3 liter) in an S-10. Should fly.
Later,
Kweecha
