MAF which one?
My opinion would be to stay with the F-body MAF for OVERALL good performance. It does depend somewhat on what power level you plan to build the engine to.

I'm using one of the 85mm truck MAF's in my setup, but that was just because I found one cheap, and I'll be using a truck motor.
Porting is what i'd stay AWAY from. When you do this, you are straying from the factory calibrated mass air flow data, which is in the computer. If you use an LS6 or truck MAF, you can retain the factory calibration by using the data entered in the Z06 or truck tables.
That's just me though.
I would use the stock LS1 MAF, and when you start to overpower it, then go a different route.
That's just ME though. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="gr_stretch.gif" />
