Default Project finally finished!

I thought some of you guys might like to see some pics of my 59 Corvette conversion that I just completed. It has a pretty much stock LS1 and 4L60E trans in a SRIII chassis and C4 front and rear suspension. I now have about 100 miles on it and have worked out most of the little bugs. It is scary fast, and will carve up the corners at an alarming speed. I just can't seem to get this stupid grin off my face.
It is now time to move it over to the garage and move the 65 Corvette body over to the shop and start on it in earnest. It too will sport a SRIII chassis with a LS2 and 4L65E trans with a Dana 44 rear and Corvette C5 front suspension. These things are habbit forming!

GORGEOUS! It's the perfect color, and those wheels look strikingly good on it. Excellent job! Is that another one in progress behind it?

Purdy......nice job. I like the way your wires are all tacked away. The engine bay is pretty clean to. I can only imagine how it feels to get in the car and drive it after so much work. I cannot wait to finish my conversion.

Do you know what kind of numbers you are making to the rear wheels?

WOW !!!!

That is an incredibly well done and thought out project. The car looks awesome and better than new. Go ahead and give yourself 20-30 more pats on the back regardless of how many you've had, it's easily worth that.

Wow.

Yep, that is the chassis for the 65 Corvette, and that is the 0 mile LS2 sitting in it that I got from that train that derailed and smashed a load of brand-new cars. I started pulling the suspension parts apart today, and will be grinding and polishing on all that stuff for the next couple of weeks.
What color do you think it will be?

Thanks, the hidden wires are lost on most people, and it allways nice to have somebody notice the lack of them! I ran all the body wiring on the backside of the inner fenders through a fabricatred conduit. I made every effort to hide every wire I could from view whenever possible, and I moved everything off the firewall for a clean look. The only wires that I am not happy with are the engine harness wires where they cross the rear of the engine. I am going to try and hide those wire better on the next engine and use smaller split loom!

WOW! I'm surprised you are not out driving it right now!

What a great job. Inspires me to get out to my cold shop and get to work!

Wow!

That's top notch work. That chassis is so nice, I'd probably have just tossed a seat on top and driven it like that.

Gee, officer. I don't know how it happened! At about 140, the thing just disintegrated! Oooh! you gotta see the welds over on this side... (pointing)

A little over 18 months from start to finish. I don't expect the 65 will be done in less than 2 years since my workload at work has really increased. I do EVERYTHING myself, and there are only so many hours in the day!
