LS1 swap into a caprice?

i know someone has done and had a bunch of pics on this site, but now i can't find it.I thought the thread was "6.0L in caprice started" but now when i search it doesn't find it maybe someone will remember his user name. the caprice was blue and he painted the motor to match looked really clean.

i read on a impala ss forum that Street and performance is coming up with motor mounts for the '90-96 B-body. they have a few pics of the test fitting. i had the link, but i missplaced it. i miss my old 9C1 now

Just a bit of advice! Make sure that your pockets are ready...I went from having a blown LT1, and now I have begun the transformation to a blown LS1. Street and Performance make a set of motor mounts, they sell the LS1 oil pan needed for clearance w/new pick up, and they also sell an aftermarket wiring harness for installation. FYI, with the new motor mounts, your engine will move forward in the engine bay a tad bit, and you may have to make modifications to the cross member. Piece of advice, order a tubular cross member, and have the tranny mount plate extended about 1 1/2 inches forward to accomodate for this. There are tons of threads on this type of a swap and everyones concerns are different, so you should be able to get the info needed. Do a search on these forums.

My next plan with the caprice is to move up to a 408 forged motor and put a small nitrous system on it.. The fun part is we have a local Impala club here and when we get toghether and everyone raises their hoods, passer by's do a double take and the usual comment is
" I didnt know they put LS1's in that year Caprice"
