Question on flywheel torque procedure. It requires 52 ft. lbs. at the end of the fouth sequence of tightening.

What should be the torque leading up to that? Loctite Blue is waiting.

Flywheel
http://www.ls1howto.com/index.php?category=1
Engine Flywheel Bolts (First Pass) 15 lb ft
Engine Flywheel Bolts (Second Pass) 37 lb ft
Engine Flywheel Bolts (Final Pass) 74 lb ft

Pressure Plate
http://www.installuniversity.com/ins...ch_install.htm
Install new flywheel and torque the 6 bolts progressively to 74 ft-lbs in a criss-cross pattern. Use a flywheel tool (or equivalent to hold the flywheel during torqing. (sorry no picture) Clean the surfaces the clutch will touch on the flywheel and pressure plate with brake cleaner. DO NOT touch these surfaces after cleaning. DO NOT touch the clutch lining! Oil/grease will reduce clutch life and hinder performance of the clutch!
Use a clutch alignment tool to hold the clutch in position and then install the new pressure plate tightening the bolts to 52 ft-lbs in a criss-cross pattern.

Sorry about the delay. I would have had it running by now but I got side tracked.

To add to the latest project I am moving so the Beretta is on indefinite hold.

But I'll be back!!!!

Hey, I didn't read your entire thread at the beretta forum. Did you extend the torque tube/shaft? It looks like you just moved the engine back to avoid that. Couldn't tell for sure from what I saw. I need to have mine extended and I'm finding that no machine-shop or drive-line shop wants to do it.

No, just used the stock length. Don't know what stress the bearings would see with an extension of the torque tube.

For torque tube lengthening check this out.

http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-196...o-Jay-Leno.htm

Looks like a guy named Bernard Juchli lengthened the torque tube 14 inches. His home number is 626-355-0587.
