LSx in a '94 Supra?
My friend has a MKIV (I believe that's the right? The '94 and up body style) with an automatic tranny and the non-turbo engine. He's offered to sell it to me cheap, and I'm curious as to the feasibility of just yanking the engine/tranny and doing the LS1/T56 combination.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance, you guys have been very helpful on here.

Nah, can't fool myself, there's people here with alot more money than I that could probably pull this off faster... But if the only major problems I'll have with the swap will be ticked off Supra owners, I'm definitely itching to pick up that car and start looking for an LS1.

I would do it just to **** off the supra guys. It would also finaly have the awesome sound to match the good looks!
It sounds like a pain in the ***, people do motor swaps in cars that most of the time have low power, or building the motor is way to much so swaping it out is a good idea.
2JZ's dont have any sort falls like RX7s and there motors are built proof and will take more boost than alot of motors and its proven.
I see it as a big pain in the *** and a waste of time..................
But a supra with a LS1 and a Gt47r or somthing would be cool, you waste time and money and build it and come show us.
Be sure to make a vid thats long and lets see what it can do.
Supras are ridiculously expensive for what you get. They're not THAT great of a car, plus for that kind of money you could even go as far as to get a GTO if you want IRS-type handling (more weight, but who cares?)
IMO Supra != worth it unless you run into a REALLY good deal.
edit: oh, put the LS1 in it... it's a better motor anyway
I like the idea. I don't consider it "wasting my time and money," but I really enjoy the hobby and doing things different. Honestly, the RX7+LS1 idea really freaking appeals to me. But I've always enjoyed the look of a clean Supra. It's just a really sexy shape to me, everything about that car. An actual rumble and real engine in there would be sex. A 400HP LS6 would be a perfect addition, and who knows what would happen down the road. Nitrous for the track, or a turbo setup, or who knows. Perfect grand tourer.
"This Supra set the record for highest horsepower on a stock block for 1 1/2 years at 980 Rear Wheel HP (1170+ HP at the crank--see dyno graph below) before the owner just recently decided to take the car to Sound Performance and build the motor and freshen the 3sp Automatic (SP400/TH400) transmission."
I would love to know how they manage to get that kind of power to the ground with BFG g-Force T/A KD 265/35R18 Front and BFG g-Force T/A KD 295/35R18 Rear. I can see two big problems right away. I could not afford to pay the speeding tickets nor could I afford to keep tires on it..
