I did the swap. Had a 2000 V6 Camaro (A4) and swapped a 99 LS1 w/ Tranny (A4) out of a 99 Trans Am into it. It wasn't that difficult a job, really. A new k-member is needed, along with a new radiator....We didn't even bother with the air conditioning crap, so my car's without it, for now. The car needed a new lid, a new Y-pipe as well. The stock V6 gauge cluster worked for me for a good while, but I got tired of pegging it at 120 and not knowing how fast I was going, so I opted for a simple gauge cluster swap outta an 2000 Z28. A mechanical accelerator pedal is also going to be needed, because the V6 is ETC. The only real problem we ran into was the fuel problem. Everyone knows LS1's are returnless style, and have the regulator built into the tank. The V6 of course has a return line, with no regulator in the tank. We ended up keeping the V6 gas tank, and swapping a set of 97-98 Corvette fuel rails with the return line hookups on them, hooked the return line up and never had a problem. I suppose it might've been easier to just ditch the return line and buy an LS1 fuel tank, but we decided to do it a different way. We didn't have to change the rear because my car was ordered with a limited slip, 3.42 rear axle... Hope any of that helped.
